Places to visit in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet range from sweeping sand dunes and fishing villages to Cham towers and historic city landmarks. This guide covers 12 locations, with links to detailed visitor guides, so you can plan a realistic route without assuming they all fit into one Jeep tour.
Quick Answer
For a first visit, start with the White Sand Dunes, Red Sand Dunes, Mui Ne Fishing Village and Fairy Stream: these are the four classic stops on our standard Jeep route. Add the coastal road, a dragon fruit garden, RD Wine Castle and the historic sights around Phan Thiet on a separate outing. The 12 places below are not all included in one Jeep tour.

The four classic Mui Ne Jeep stops
1. White Sand Dunes (Bau Trang)
Walk up a pale dune ridge for wide views over the sand and lakes. Sunrise is especially popular, so bring water and protect your camera from windblown sand. ATV rides, when available, are a separate paid activity. See our White Sand Dunes visitor guide for practical details.
2. Red Sand Dunes
These smaller dunes are easier to explore on foot, and the warm sand can look striking in late afternoon light. Go beyond the roadside edge if you want a quieter photograph, but allow time to return to your driver. Read the Red Sand Dunes guide.
3. Mui Ne Fishing Village
From the viewpoint, you can look across the bay at the colorful fishing boats and round basket boats. Early morning is the most active time to observe local fishing life; keep paths clear for people working there. Our Mui Ne Fishing Village guide explains what to expect.
4. Fairy Stream (Suoi Tien)
This shallow stream winds between red and pale sand formations. Wear footwear you can remove or rinse, and check the water conditions after rain. Most visitors walk part of the stream rather than rushing to its far end. See the Fairy Stream visitor guide.

5. Mui Ne Coastal Road
The open road, sea views and changing dune landscape make the drive part of the experience. Ask the driver about a safe, permitted photo stop instead of stopping on a blind bend or busy shoulder. For viewpoints and route ideas, read our Mui Ne Coastal Road guide. Driving along a stretch does not guarantee a dedicated stop on a standard tour.
6. A dragon fruit garden
Dragon fruit farms are a signature part of the wider Phan Thiet landscape, especially when the fields are flowering or bearing fruit. Arrange access with a grower or guide first: a productive farm is private working land, not an open attraction. This is an optional agricultural visit, separate from the four-stop Jeep tour.
7. RD Wine Castle
At the Sea Links area, RD Wine Castle offers a very different setting from Mui Ne’s dunes and fishing coast. It can suit travelers who enjoy architecture or a tasting experience. Check current opening times, admission and any tasting conditions directly before going; it is a separate paid stop and is not part of the standard Jeep route.
8. Po Sah Inu Cham Towers
The Cham towers on Ba Nai Hill introduce another chapter of the region’s history. Give yourself time to view the remaining structures and the hilltop setting respectfully. The site is often called Po Sah Inu or Poshanu; it sits on the way toward Phan Thiet rather than on the four-stop dunes route. Read our Po Sah Inu Cham Towers guide before visiting.
Four places to explore in central Phan Thiet
9. Van Thuy Tu Temple
Van Thuy Tu preserves the maritime beliefs of Phan Thiet’s fishing communities, including the tradition of whale worship. It is a more focused cultural visit than a beach stop. Check visitor access before you go and behave respectfully around any worship activities. See our Van Thuy Tu Temple visitor guide.
10. Phan Thiet Market
Walk through a working local market to see produce, seafood and everyday city life. The morning is a practical time to visit; ask before photographing vendors and carry small cash for purchases. If food is your main reason for coming into town, pair the market with our Phan Thiet street food guide.
11. Duc Thanh School
This preserved school is associated with Nguyen Tat Thanh, later known as Ho Chi Minh, who taught in Phan Thiet before leaving Vietnam. It rewards a slower visit if you are interested in local history. Check current visiting arrangements and allow time to read the displays rather than treating it as a quick photo stop. Our Duc Thanh School guide has more detail.
12. Phan Thiet Water Tower
The historic water tower beside the Ca Ty River is a recognizable city landmark. Enjoy the view from the public riverside area and combine it with nearby central Phan Thiet stops. It is best understood as a short city walk or photo stop, not a sand-dune excursion.
How to plan the 12 places without rushing
Half day: Choose a classic sunrise or sunset Jeep tour for the four core stops. Another half day or day: Explore the Phan Thiet market and heritage sights at your own pace. Fit the coastal road, a pre-arranged dragon fruit farm visit, RD Wine Castle or Po Sah Inu into the route that matches your interests and opening arrangements. You do not need to visit all 12 to have a good trip.
Our one-day Mui Ne itinerary and two-day Mui Ne itinerary can help you decide how much time to allow. For a custom drive, discuss the route and any additional stop charges before booking; admission, ATV rides, tastings and meals are separate.
Standard Jeep departures are 04:30 for sunrise and 14:00 for sunset. Private flexible departures are available from 07:00–16:00. Please book at least 3 hours before pickup; arrange a 04:30 sunrise pickup by 20:00 the previous evening. No deposit is required. Ask us separately about custom stops.
